For Michele, working at Today’s Family means being the best to give the best.
A 10-year veteran at Today’s Family, Michele knows the names of all the children that pass her in the halls. Michele’s sharp mind and wit are what put smiles on the faces of every child and parent who walks in the building.
As the saying goes, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
For years, Michele has advocated for healthier choices. Making sure every child she serves at our centres goes home with a belly full of fresh, homemade food is what keeps her coming back every day. “It was always my dream to stand up and say, ‘at Today’s Family, we give your child meals that are not only healthy, but delicious too!’”
Since she started at Today’s Family, Michele has worked tirelessly to modernize the Today’s Family menus. “I don’t write down any of my Today’s Family recipes,” she says proudly. “They’re all in my mind.”
Michele agreed, however, that the time had come to show Today’s Family’s commitment to children and their tummies to the community. It was time to get those recipes out of her head and into this appealing cookbook that will be shared for years to come. “This is what this book is all about – the change through the years.”
Michele’s vision of promoting nutrition for children and families doesn’t stop with this tantalizing collection of recipes.
“I would like to have little workshops for children that are interested in cooking,” she grinned. “That would be my next step. And for parents, to help them start the transition.”
Whether it’s helping to create a cookbook or serving meals to more than 100 children each day, love is Michele’s main ingredient.
“My philosophy about cooking is I always give my best. You are all guests at my dinner table and I want you to delight in the delicious meal I have prepared. That’s the way I cook!”
