Today’s Family has always believed that our programs should be accessible to everyone. This previous July, we restated that belief when we unveiled our Commitment to Accessibility.
Today’s Family was founded to fit the needs of, well, the families of today, some of which face additional barriers of entry to other childcare programs. We believe that these barriers should not prevent families from accessing the childcare that they need.
Even though this is a “Top Down” decision (our policies are in line with the 2005 Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act), Today’s Family believes that a true barrier-free experience is the result of community-wide collaboration. Some aspects of barrier-free childcare are easy: making sure wheelchairs can physically get into our centres, or making sure support systems are included in washrooms for ease-of-use. Others are a lot more difficult – or at least, aren’t as apparent.
We are committed to providing an accessible environment not only to every single one of our children, but also every family, staff and provider, job applicant, supplier, and visitor who comes to visit us. So, if you feel as though we could be doing more, please let us know. Contact Us through our website, or talk to us in person the next time you drop off or pick up your child.
