On January 12, 2010, Haiti experienced a 7.0 magnitude earthquake. It is estimated that well over 100 000 Haitians lost their life and more than a million left homeless.
Anyone who has viewed the footage of survivors who have been left homeless, hungry and in need of medical care has been affected.
Staff at Today’s Family have felt compelled to help in any way that they can. Helping Haitians with immediate relief is a beginning for a country which will require long-term support to rebuild.
How can you help?
Staff have come up with the idea: “Casual Week for Haiti Relief”.
For a $5 donation, staff can dress casual for the week. All monies raised will go to the Canadian Red Cross : http://www.redcross.ca/ , to support the urgent and immediate needs of Haitians.
All monies raised by February 12 will be matched by the federal government: www.acdi-cida.gc.ca/home
