If you’re as passionate about the well-being of children and families as we are, if you’re interested in governing an organization that truly makes a difference, and if you’re ready to help steer Today’s Family toward a future that is bright and even more impactful, we want to hear from you!
Candidates are assessed using a merit-based process, the primary focus being the degree to which the skills and expertise of the prospective board member meets the needs of Today’s Family.
Board members must possess relevant expertise, leadership skills and appropriate experience. In addition, board members must have an interest in and an understanding of local and family needs, as well as those of the early learning and child care sector.
Today’s Family is deeply committed to promoting diversity, advancing equity, and to fostering a culture of inclusion. Therefore, we invite applications from marginalized and equity-seeking groups.

Today’s Family Early Learning and Child Care is a non-profit, charitable agency serving more than 4,000 children (and their parents and caregivers) in Hamilton, Halton, Haldimand and Norfolk and surrounding areas.
Through the development of specialized programs, the agency has grown over time to reflect the changing needs of families within the community. This idea is reflected in everything we do, and even in our name. We strive to meet the diverse cultural, social and economic demands of today’s families by offering a wide range of early learning, child care and related services. Our programs currently serve more than 4,000 families in Hamilton, Halton and Haldimand-Norfolk. Programs include licensed home child care, early learning and child care centres, day camp programs, EarlyON Centres, family support programs, and youth engagement opportunities.
Working together to enrich today’s families, we want what’s best for children.
Our vision is that every child experience the joy of learning through play.
Today’s Family values caring, collaboration, accountability and innovation.
Caring – We care for the children who take part in our programs, for their families, for our staff, for our community, for our environment.
Collaboration – Together, with other organizations in our city and our province, we can help to make change and chart new directions for all children.
Accountability – Our primary responsibility is the children and families we serve.
Innovation – Being creative, trying new things, embracing change.
