Today, we look back at this excellent CBC article written just under a year ago. The conclusion? A report authored in October 2017 finds that every dollar spent on Early Childhood Education can result in as much as six dollars in benefits down the line.
The cause for this return-on-investment is two-fold: not only is early childhood education important for preparing children for life in school, it also frees up their parents to re-enter the workforce sooner.
At Today’s Family, we are dedicated to providing excellent early childhood education, and childcare, because we believe that it is important. It’s good to see that there’s science to back us up.
“Many people see investments in early childhood education as glorified babysitting,” Alexander (one of the authors of the report) said. “But we’re not talking about kids sitting in school rooms. We’re talking about play-based learning.”
Today’s Family has long been committed to play-based learning. You can read about it here on the blog.
