EarlyON Child and Family Centres

EarlyON Child and Family Centres are places where families, caring adults (grandparents, caregivers, home child care providers etc.) and children six years of age and younger gather to play and learn together.

EarlyON Child and Family Centres are:

FAQS

Do I need to pre-register in order to attend an EarlyON Centre?

EarlyON centres in Hamilton have transitioned into a hybrid model of drop-in and pre-registered programming options. You are encouraged to view the calendar of the EarlyON location you are planning to visit before arriving onsite to determine the type of programming available that day. All EarlyON calendars are posted at www.keyon.ca.

Capacity limits are in place at all centres for both drop-in and pre-registered programs.  Please contact your local EarlyON centre if you need more information.

Do I have to show proof of vaccination to attend an EarlyON Centre?

No. Proof of vaccination requirements have been lifted for all EarlyON centres.

Do I need to wear a mask at an EarlyON Centre? Does my child?

Masks are no longer required for staff, children or adults at EarlyON centres.  Individuals are encouraged to exercise personal choice and assess their own level of comfort as it relates to mask wearing for themselves and their families. All EarlyON centres will continue to create mask friendly environments and support everyone’s choices.

What health and safety measures are in place?

In accordance with local public health direction, appropriate hand hygiene, respiratory etiquette, cleaning and disinfecting continues.

COVID-19 screening

• Parents/caregivers should self-screen themselves and their children at home before attending an indoor or outdoor EarlyON program. Please follow the most up-to-date Ministry of Health school and child care screening tool online at https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/.
• Individuals who fail the screening should not attend the EarlyON program and are advised to follow the guidance provided by the screening tool.

Capacity limits

• Although physical distancing is no longer a requirement, group sizes will continue to be limited in order to promote high quality, safe and enjoyable experiences for everyone.
• EarlyON Centres have discretion to determine the capacity limit for each location as needed

How do I register online using KEyON?

www.keyon.ca is a website that supports a digital sign-in tool that provides families with a quick and simple way to register and sign-in at EarlyON Centres.

Once you register as a member, you will receive a QR code that will be on a key tag or may be scanned with your phone. Your KEyON account will allow you to manage your pre-registration for activities online. You can use the QR code to sign-in to any EarlyON centre throughout Ontario that has implemented KEyON.
