Dear Today’s Family’s Community Partners,
Following an extensive search and consultation with stakeholders and our community, the Board of Directors of Today’s Family is very pleased to announce the appointment of Brenda Ferguson as our new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective June 1, 2022.
At a time when passion, commitment, leadership, advocacy and drive is so essential in our changing sector and on behalf of children and families, Brenda Ferguson is uniquely qualified to serve and succeed as CEO of Today’s Family. She has a confident vision for the future that is values-based, supportive of staff success and unwavering for the well-being of children and communities.
Since joining us, Brenda has learned and developed and made big contributions to Today’s Family. As Chief Operating Officer (COO) since 2014, Brenda has been instrumental helping grow and strengthen our organization into the system-leader we are today. She is a champion of our staff team and every family who turns to us for service and support. In everything she does, Brenda lives Today’s Family’s guiding principle: to do what’s best for children and their families.
Brenda has worked hard to establish herself as a leader in the system, where she has a strong reputation and many productive working relationships. Brenda currently serves as the Board Chair of the Home Child Care Association of Ontario. She was the previous Chair of Culture for Kids in the Arts in Hamilton, previous board member of Centre3 for Artistic and Social Practice and is a member of the Quality Early Learning Network (QELN) of Ontario. Her engagement with local, provincial, and national partners positions her ideally for integrating the pending Canadian National Child Care Plan into the lives of children and families served by Today’s Family.
The Board is excited to continue working alongside Brenda in her new capacity as she guides and leads all of us into a very bright future. We know her broad and unique set of skills will continue to successfully position Today’s Family as a caring, collaborative, innovative, accountable, and inclusive leader in child care.
Please join us in welcoming Brenda to her new role as the new CEO of Today’s Family.
Thank you,
Jeff Vallentin
